Glamorgan Guild of Weavers Spinners & Dyers

Our next meeting in Dinas Powys is on Thursday 12th April at 7:30pm Kynance Hall (rear of the Methodist Church). We will be visited by Gareth Jones from the British Wool Marketing Board. He will give a general presentation on the BWMB’s role and activities, market situation and the Campaign for Wool.So if there are any questions or queries you have for Gareth - please come along! Congratulations to new committee members Rhoda & Tora. They graciously volunteered to assist with the running and organisation of the guild's activities. Welcome aboard! Our AGM was a good update of where we are as a guild and where we want to be going in the future. Lots of ideas were put forward for the committee to follow up. After the meeting a stash clearing was held. Lots of lovely things were re-distributed to new homes, with everyone plotting what they can create next. Our next meeting in April is on the 12th. We look forward to seeing everyone there!

Just a quick reminder to say that our next meeting is our AGM. We are looking for nominations for committee membership - please contact Jane/Kathy with your suggestions- once you have the permission of the person in question obviously! Following that we are having a swap shop - if there's anything in your stash that is just taking up space - bring it along and see if you can pick up something else instead! This will all be at Kynance Hall in Dinas Powys from 7:30pm. See you there!

Much fun was had by all who attended the colour blending workshop led by Doreen. First off we started by blending our own colour wheels - here are some of the results.  As you can see - different primary colours made very different results in our colour wheels. After lunch we worked on our samples. No pictures unfortunately - but perhaps we'll have some finished product pictures inspired by the workshop at some point! On the 8th the Guild enjoyed a lovely meal with beautiful table decorations -thanks to those who set up and helped out for the food and the organisation of the night as a whole. We are already looking forward to our meetings next year. First up is our January workshop led by Doreen Barnaville on colour blending.
